Ashley Kaplan

SVP, Digital Studios at Nickelodeon

Ashley Kaplan

Ashley Kaplan oversees the Nickelodeon and AwesomenessTV Unscripted and Digital Franchise Studio at ViacomCBS, where she has led the growth of the Nick and Awesomeness brands’ unscripted programming, as well as both brands’ digital presence and growth across all platforms. Under Kaplan’s leadership, Nickelodeon and Awesomeness have seen a content transformation that has led to pioneering new IP and franchises for Nickelodeon’s linear TV and digital platforms, new unscripted formats, and a commitment to developing emerging creators and talent.

Kaplan’s credits include creative oversight on the wildly-successful “NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon”—with the 2022 telecast on Nick and CBS ranking as the most-watched NFL Wild Card game on any network in seven years; the 2021 “Super Duper Super Bowl Pregame Spectacular,” Nickelodeon’s family-friendly Super Bowl LV pregame special in partnership with CBS Sports and the NFL; Nickelodeon’s Daytime Emmy-nominated “Kid of the Year” TV special in partnership with TIME and TIME for Kids; “Nickelodeon’s Unfiltered,” a remotely-produced game show hosted by Jay Pharoah and one of Nickelodeon’s highest-rating unscripted live action shows; cartoon trivia show “Tooned In”; the holiday competition special hosted by WWE superstar Xavier Woods, “Nickelodeon’s Treasure Truck”; and AwesomenessTV’s popular influencer reality competition series, “AwesomenessTV’s Next Influencer.”

Ashley also served as an executive on the original eight-part docuseries "SpongeBob DocuPants: A Bikini Bottom Documentary," which now lives on ViacomCBS streaming service Paramount+. Hosted by Kent Shocknek, each episode takes an intelligent, overly dramatic look into classic SpongeBob storylines.

Prior to Nickelodeon and Awesomeness, Kaplan served as Senior Vice President, Creative and Production at Fullscreen Media, where she oversaw ongoing production and development of premium content. Earlier, she was Vice President of Digital Content and Strategy for the Magical Elves production company, and previously worked for Viacom’s Logo channel.

Kaplan is based in ViacomCBS’ Hollywood, Calif. office.
