Juan Pablo Jaramillo
Juan Pablo Jaramillo is one of the most famous creators of digital content in the region. This year he celebrated 11 years of having uploaded his first video on the platform and thanks to his influence he achieved a transcendental change in his country, Colombia. Using his best weapon: the Internet, Juan Pablo made an online petition so that his proposal would be heard by the government of his country; a proposal that sought to end discrimination in public places against people because of their sex, religion, color, sexual preference, socio-economic status and disability. These places would have a sticker at the entrance that would identify them as safe places free of discrimination.
The online petition received more than 20,000 signatures in 8 hours, four times more than the number needed for the federal government to hear Juan Pablo's citizen's proposal. Five months later, Juan Pablo was at the official residence of the President of the Republic who signed his proposal to make it into law. McDonalds was one of the first companies to carry the sticker designed by Juan Pablo on its entrance and train its employees on how to better treat their customers no matter who they are.
