Julie Walsh Smith is the CEO at Complexly, the studio behind the beloved YouTube channels Crash Course, SciShow, and more. Complexly was founded by longtime creators John Green and Hank Green. With its mission to create trustworthy content that inspires curiosity and lowers barriers to knowledge building, Complexly has reached students, teachers and lifelong learners on a global scale. At over 32 million YouTube subscribers and over 5.5 billion views, Complexly is one of the world’s largest educational producers.

Julie started at Complexly in 2014, having begun as Hank’s assistant working on various Green projects, including VidCon. As Complexly's COO since 2016, she has led Complexly's teams through steady growth, and supported the exploration of new business arms and partnerships. Now in its 14th year, Julie is leading Complexly through its evolution from a creator business to a curiosity-driven media brand.
