Amy Nelson

Founder
The Riveter

Amy Nelson is an entrepreneur, creator and activist. The mother of 4 young daughters, in 2017 Amy pivoted after a decade of practicing law to build The Riveter, a digital media and career platform dedicated to giving professional women the information and skills to make money outside of corporate America. While building The Riveter, she raised $30 million in venture capital, landed a column in Forbes, launched an iHeart podcast, and was featured everywhere from the TODAY Show to Cannes Lions and Fortune's Most Powerful Women. But in 2020, Amy's husband was falsely accused of a crime by his former Big Tech employer and the government seized every penny the family had via civil forfeiture - without ever charging anyone with a crime. Instead of remaining silent, Amy built a viral social media community of over 500,000 to educate Americans and advocate for reform. Amy’s fight ended in victory for her family and she is now working to end civil forfeiture in America.
