SUSTAINABILITY
As part of Informa’s Faster Forward initiative, we continue to embed sustainability and equity into how VidCon operates – across our production, partnerships, and programming. Faster Forward is a structured three-part program with ambitious commitments and a wide range of activities, covering Informa's business operations, brands, and products and our broader community impact.
When it comes to sustainability, here’s how we show up:
Faster to Zero:
We’re reducing the environmental footprint of VidCon across every stage of the event
- Powered by renewable energy - energy attribution certificates are purchased so that the non-renewable electricity we use is matched with electricity generated from renewable sources.
- Tracking energy consumption at the convention center and hotels.
- No HVAC during move in/move out.
- Lighting levels are set to 50% during move in/move out.
- Carbon offsetting for business travel - we offset 100% of the carbon produced by colleagues when traveling on business.
- Reduce event waste

- Better Stands assessments to encourage reusable booths
- Carpet re-use
- Printing on recyclable materials

VidCon supports the flourishing diversity in our community and does our best to foster a safe and inclusive space. Upon arrival, attendees can pick up pronoun pins to place on their lanyards.
